It is important to note that these files are not open to the public other than what the journalists and authors decide to share, and that Musk somehow is “vetting” the files before passing them along to these journalists.

Meanwhile, the FBI is claiming {Direct Rumble Link} that anyone who notices their influence over the platform content is a “conspiracy theorist” intent on delivering harm to the United States by spreading disinformation. It’s as if the powers that be within the FBI are desperate to keep the American people gaslit.
There comes a time in the maintenance of any fraud, where the victims start to become aware of their surroundings. Perceptions, perspectives and prior opinions begin to change. For those benefiting from the fraud, the loss of control starts triggering all kinds of reactions.
The need for control is a reaction to fear.

Nearly every censor in the history of mankind has argued that speech should be curbed to fight existential threats to society. And nearly every censor in history, sooner or later, expands the threat to undercut the rights of their political opponents.
The Biden administration has already threatened to investigate Musk on multiple occasions, which isn’t surprising considering its unprecedented antagonizing about free expression.

And Europe has answered the call. Thierry Breton, the EU’s commissar of “internal market,” says: “Twitter will have to implement transparent user policies, significantly reinforce content moderation and protect freedom of speech, tackle disinformation with resolve, and limit targeted advertising.”
Reuters news agency notes: “Breton told Musk he must adhere to a checklist of rules, including ditching an ‘arbitrary’ approach to reinstating banned users and agreeing to an ‘extensive independent audit’ of the platform by next year.”

Elon Musk does it again and blasts the World Economic Forum for their overpopulation ideology on Twitter. Musk, whom we may not agree with on everything, thankfully wisely reacted to WEF darling Jane Goodall’s view that the earth would be better off with a far lower population by saying that this philosophy “is the death of humanity.”
He has frequently stated that his greatest concern is the dangerously low birth rate of the world. Wall Street Silver, an investment forum, agrees with him, saying an impending “population collapse” and “low birth rates” will be the “real problem” for the world’s future.
Musk and Wall Street Silver are correct, but almost all globalists are rapidly implementing their New World Order Great Reset under the totally false, anti-human assumption that the world is vastly overpopulated.

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt, one of the attorneys general that filed the lawsuit, disclosed an overview of FBI agent Elvis Chan’s testimony on ‘weekly meetings’ about censoring Internet posts ahead of the 2020 election.
“In our deposition of FBI agent Elvis Chan on Tuesday, we found that the FBI plays a big role in working with social media companies to censor speech – from weekly meetings with social media companies ahead of the 2020 election to asks for account takedowns,” Schmitt wrote in a Twitter thread.
“Chan, the FBI’s FITF, and senior CISA officials had meetings with social media companies in the lead-up to the 2020 election, in which Chan personally told the social media companies that there could potentially be a Russian ‘hack and leak’ operation shortly before the election,” he continued. “Those meetings were initially quarterly, then monthly, then weekly heading into the 2020 election.”

FBI: Always barking at the wrong tree
“Anti-law enforcement violent extremists – may pose the “greatestthreat” domestically this year and likely into 2022″, the DHS narrative continues.
Perhaps I am wrong, but the only time I can recall in modern U.S. history that aggressive and illegal federal activity was halted mid-effort, was the example of the Clive Bundy ranch in 2014. Armed citizens forced federal authorities, including the FBI, to back down. In response to their loss, former AG Eric Holder vowed to revive “a domestic terrorism task force.” Contemplate that response against the 2021 statements of the FBI saying domestic violent extremists (DVE’s) represent the greatest threat. Can you see the connective tissue?
From the worldview of the DOJ/FBI, law-abiding U.S. citizens – pushed to the point of taking up defensive arms against federal agents – are a threat. Ergo, the newest definition of “Domestic Violent Extremists, or DVEs”, to define who the FBI view as their most substantive enemy. Two years after the Bundy Ranch standoff, the FBI shot and killed LaVoy Finicum, fulfilling their promise to eliminate extremists as defined by their worldview.
The FBI was fully aware of the Boston Marathon bombers, the Tsarnaev brothers, before they executed their plot. The FBI took no action. The FBI knew about the San Bernardino terrorists, specifically Tasfeen Malik, and were monitoring her phone calls and communications before her and Syed Farook executed their attack killing 14 people and leaving 22 others seriously injured. The FBI took no action. The FBI knew Colorado grocery store shooter Ahmad Alissa before he executed his attack. The FBI took no action.
The FBI knew in advance of the Pulse Nightclub shooter (Omar Mateen) and were tipped off by the local sheriff. The FBI knew in advance of the San Bernardino Terrorists (Tashfeen Malik). The FBI knew in advance of the Boston Marathon Bombers (the Tsarnaev brothers) tipped off by Russians. The FBI knew in advance of the Parkland High School shooter (Nikolas Cruz). The FBI knew in advance of the Fort Hood shooter (Nidal Hasan), and the FBI knew in advance of Colorado grocery store shooter Ahmad al-Aliwi Alissa. The FBI took no action.
Consider the case of the first recorded ISIS attack on U.S. soil in Garland, Texas in 2015. The FBI not only knew the shooters (Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi) in advance, the FBI took the shooters to the venue and were standing only a few yards away when Simpson and Soofi opened fire. Yes, you read that correctly – the FBI took the terrorists to the event and then watched it unfold. “An FBI trainer suggested in an interview with “60 Minutes” that, had the attack been bigger, the agency’s numerous ties to the shooter would have led to a congressional investigation.”
Remember, shortly before the 2018 mid-term election, when Ceasar Syoc – a man living in his van – was caught sending “energetic material that can become combustible when subjected to heat or friction”, or what FBI Director Christopher Wray called “not hoax devices“? Remember how sketchy everything about that was, including the child-like perpetrator telling a judge later than he was trying to walk back his guilty plea because he was tricked into signing a confession for a crime he did not create.
Or more recently, the goofball plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer that involved 18 suspects, twelve of them actually working for the FBI as the plot was hatched? And we cannot forget the January 6th. DC protest turned insurrection effort, which is clearly looking like an FBI inspired and coordinated effort.
Have we forgotten the Atlanta “Olympic Park Bombing”, and the FBI intentionally setting up transparently innocent, Richard Jewel?
Then, there’s the entirety of the FBI conduct in “Spygate”, the demonstrably evident FBI operation to conduct political surveillance against Donald Trump using their investigative authorities; and the downstream consequences of a massive institutional effort to cover up one of the biggest justice department scandals in the history of our nation. The original effort against Donald Trump used massive resources from the DOJ and FBI. Heck, the coverup operation using the Mueller/Weissmann special counsel used more than 50 investigative FBI agents alone.
And of course, the FBI still had 13 extra agents available to rush to a NASCAR racetrack to investigate a garage door pull-down rope that might have been perceived as a noose; but the serial rape of hundreds of teenage girls, eh, not-so-much effort – even when they are standing in front of the FBI begging for help.
[At this point, I am increasingly convinced by evidence the FBI themselves are the perpetrators involved in sex trafficking and human smuggling. Perhaps as part of a dark money operation to continue funding a mission unknown to the public]
It is important to realize what exactly happened in the case of the Olympic gymnasts and the rape of hundreds of teenage girls. When the victims and parents told the FBI about what Larry Nassar was doing, the FBI did not bungle the investigation. The FBI did not investigate. But worse…. after the parents kept coming back to the FBI to ask what was going on; and report that other parents were now reporting that new rapes and assaults were ongoing; the FBI told those parents an investigation was ongoing. Except it wasn’t. The FBI was lying.
As the FBI was telling the victims they were investigating Larry Nassar, the FBI was doing no such thing. The FBI was lying to the victims and their families. The FBI was not taking any action whatsoever to address the multitude of claims against Nassar.
After the FBI was caught lying about their conduct, they then lied to the internal oversight, the OIG, about everything surrounding their conduct. The FBI didn’t make a mistake, or drop the proverbial ball, they intentionally and specifically maintained the sexual exploitation of teenage girls by doing absolutely nothing with the complaints they received. This is not misconduct, this is purposeful.
Then, as if to apply salt to the open wound of severe FBI politicization….what did the FBI do with the Hunter Biden laptop?
What the Federal Security Service (FSB) is to the internal security of the Russian state; so too is the FBI in performing the same function for the U.S. federal government.
The FBI is a U.S. version of the Russian “State Police”; and the FBI is deployed -almost exclusively- to attack domestic enemies of those who control government, while they protect the interests of the U.S. Fourth Branch of Government. That is the clear and accurate domestic prism to contextualize their perceived mission: “domestic violent extremists pose the greatest threat” to their objective.
Put another way, “We The People”, who fight against government abuse and usurpation, are the FBI’s actual and literal enemy.
Let me be very clear with another brutally obvious example. Antifa could not exist as an organization; capable to organize and carry out violent attacks against their targets; without the full support of the FBI. If the FBI wanted to arrest members of Antifa, who are actually conducting violence, they could do it easily – with little effort.
It is the absence of any action by the FBI toward Antifa, that tells us the FBI is enabling that violent extremist behavior to continue. Once you accept that transparent point of truth; then, you realize the FBI definition of domestic violent extremism is something else entirely.
The FBI is no longer a law enforcement or investigative division of the U.S. Department of Justice. The FBI has evolved into a political weapon of a larger intelligence apparatus that is now focused almost entirely on self-preservation, even if that means destroying civil society in the United States.
Anyone who continues to push the fraudulent “honorable FBI rank and file talking point”, is, at this point in history, willfully and purposefully operating to deceive the American people on behalf of government interests who are intent on control. It is not a difference of opinion any longer. It is a matter of just accepting what is staring us directly in the face.

The GOP Elite’s Scorn For Its Own Voters Has Been A Long Time In The Making
ironies of our contemporary politics that the leadership of one of America’s two major political parties, the Republican Party, utterly despises that party’s very own voting base.
The GOP elite’s scorn for its own voters has, at this point, been a long time in the making. The trend accelerated during the 2009-2011 rise of the Tea Party, a grassroots movement fueled by constitutionalism and anti-elite populism.
The crustier elements of the Republican establishment ran as far away as possible from the Tea Party, and the 2012 presidential coronation of private equity plutocrat Mitt Romney effectively killed the movement. Four years later, the Republican establishment fought tooth-and-nail against presidential candidates Donald Trump and Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, the two candidates who most vociferously condemned the establishment’s myriad shortcomings; as an unsurprising corollary, Trump and Cruz fetched the most primary votes that cycle from actual rank-and-file Republican voters.
Party’s recent midterm elections debacle, right-liberal sharks are circling. These devoted acolytes of what a prominent 2019 First Things manifesto called the American Right’s “dead consensus” think they see blood in the water.
Indeed, the “dead consensus” praetorian guard has apparently decided that now is the time for a counterattack against the more nationalist and populist-inclined forces of what has, broadly, been dubbed the “New Right.” A recent anti-national conservatism fusillade from The Federalist’s David Harsanyi is reflective of the broader subgenre
The opportunistic timing of this ascendant strand of argumentation is as obvious as its logic is facile. The basic argument is: Former President Donald Trump, the individual, is largely inextricable from the substantive political commitments of the “New Right”; Trump was primarily responsible for the GOP’s ballot box losses last month; therefore, the “New Right” is at “best” vicariously responsible itself, and at “worst” is merely hurting badly.
Either way, Republicans’ midterm election disappointments present, for beleaguered right-liberals, a perfect opportunity to turn the tables and go on the offensive.
This cynical strategy must not succeed. A return to the “dead consensus” status quo ante would be a disaster for the American Right and the Republican Party — and thus for the nation as a whole.

By the by, it's very bad budget practice not to get a full CBO scorecard regarding spending revenues, deficits and debt. But, like everything done in this dark, smoke-filled room, it's bad. As usual, Elon Musk got it right, when he tweeted out:
"I’m in favor of a small spending bill to keep things running, but common sense suggests that it be the least amount required through the holidays. Railroading through a giant spending bill that almost no one has read is unlikely to be in the best interests of the people."
By the way, before we get too deep into all the goofy spending in this monstrosity, I want to repeat that there is a big corporate tax hike embedded in this bill, namely, the R&D — the Research and Development tax credit — will move away from full expensing and toward amortization over five years.
This jacks up corporate taxes by about $35 billion — and actually begins this calendar year. Plus, companies will have a less generous interest deduction for corporate debt and can only write off 80% of their capital investment — down from 100% since the Trump tax bill was enacted in 2018.
I want to give a very big hat tip to Strategas' Washington policy analyst Dan Clifton for writing about this.
Plus, of course, the prior Democratic IRA bill slaps on a 15% corporate minimum tax and a truly stupid 1% tax on stock buybacks. The point is, Republicans, or at least the Senate version, pretend to be opposed to tax hikes, but in this monstrosity omnibus, they didn't lift one pinky ring finger to prevent tax hikes, which, by the way, will retard investment, productivity, jobs, real wages and blue-collar family incomes.
So, this is not just a monster spending hike bill, this is also a tax hike bill, which Mr. McConnell is apparently so proud of. Other Republicans are trying to sell this loser on the basis of a 2% reduction to the $12.6 billion annual IRS budget, but this does nothing about the $80 billion increase already legislated in the fraudulently named "Inflation Reduction Act" for 87,000 new IRS agents. In other words, nothing happened.
There are so many crazy things in this bill, we don't really have the time to go through all of them. On just a couple of ironic things: The FBI gets a near $600 million increase for all the good work they’ve done in the "Twitter Files" and Lord knows where else.
The omnibus includes $410 million for border security in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Oman. But I couldn't find anything for the southern border of the U.S. Just saying.
Then, there's $575 million for family planning to halt population growth that "threatens biodiversity or endangered species," and there’s another $285 million for family planning in general, but I don't see any family planning money to help protect the rights of the unborn.
Then there’s also big increases in food stamps, home heating assistance, Pell grants, Head Start, childcare, child nutrition, WIC — Women, Infants and Children — and other aspects of universal guaranteed income with no work requirements. Those are all Democratic favorites.
Let me wonder out loud, how much emergency COVID assistance is now being built into the mandatory spending budget baseline increase that makes Mitch McConnell so happy? How much? I don’t know. I'm good with the Ukraine assistance aimed at enhanced weapons, but I'm not so good with the $15.5 billion going to economic, budgetary and humanitarian support for the Ukrainian government, which has a less-than-stellar reputation when it comes to corruption.
I am totally happy with banning TikTok on federal government devices. Totally happy! That may be the best part of the bill.
I do like the improved retirement savings incentives, but I do not like added health care spending on Medicaid, again, without work requirements, or the children’s health insurance, again without workfare.
There's plenty that I've left out. I confess, I did not read the 4,000-page document and I probably never will, but I throw up my hands at what my friends in the Republican Senate have done. I don't get it. This is all so counterproductive. This has nothing to do with Republican stewardship of economic prosperity.

The Pentagon is halting all actions related to its COVID-19 vaccine mandate after President Joe Biden signed the Fiscal 2023 National Defense Authorization Act, which includes an end to the mandate.
“The NDAA requires that, not later than 30 days after enactment, the Secretary of Defense rescind the mandate that members of the Armed Forces be vaccinated against COVID-19. As a result, the Department will rescind the mandate and is currently in the process of developing further guidance. During this process, we are pausing all actions related to the COVID-19 vaccine mandate,” a Pentagon spokesperson told The Epoch Times in an email.
“The health and readiness of our force are crucial to the Department’s ability to defend our nation, and Secretary Austin continues to encourage all of our Service members, civilian employees, and contractor personnel to get vaccinated and boosted to ensure the readiness of our total force,” the spokesperson added.
Biden hours signed the NDAA despite stating his opposition to ending the mandate earlier in December. The White House had even gone so far as threatening that the president might veto the bill.
The Department of Defense in 2021 required all U.S. military troops to take the COVID-19 vaccine by September 15th of that year. The Associated Press earlier reported Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s memo to the troops.
An Armed Forces member refusing to take the vaccine is subject to punishment under the U.C.M.J., the AP’s report noted. The punishment for refusal to obey an order may escalate up to court martial.
That disciplinary action appears to be dead-on-arrival, for now. But thousands of military troops have refused 're-upping' or have otherwise been run out of the military, despite their objections for medical, personal or religious reasons. It is left to the next Congress to begin healing the open wound caused by this Covid "vaccine" mandate.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed new rules that would restrict the use of refrigerators, air conditioning equipment and heat pumps that utilize hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs).
The EPA’s proposed rule would crack down on the manufacturing and importing of goods containing HFCs, which would restrict the use of HFCs in refrigeration units, air conditioning systems and heat pump equipment starting in 2025, according to an agency press release. Is the Wall of Public Education Beginning to Crumble in Texas?
As parents lead the charge against taxpayer-funded grooming and indoctrination, members of the public education establishment are digging in their heels.
There was a time when school board meetings and elections were largely overlooked by citizen activists, who have historically focused more on state and federal politics.
It should come as no surprise to Texas Scorecard readers that those days are over, as this is the second year education has topped the charts of topics discussed in our year-end review.
As the Texas Legislature prepares to convene in Austin next month, there has never been more attention on the education students receive through the public school system. While debates about masking and social distancing prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic have largely subsided, efforts among educators to promote a divisive social agenda have galvanized parents and community members in school districts across the state to scrutinize and speak out on questionable curricula and policies more intently than ever before. From practices intended to promote “equity” and the LGBTQ lifestyle, to exposing children to sexually explicit material and failing to provide students with the tools to improve their fundamental academic abilities, public schools have become ground zero in the culture war.
Texas lawmakers propose changes to school taxing, funding systems
Texas lawmakers have proposed a slew of bills that could introduce big changes to both the main funding mechanism for the state's public schools and the formula that calculates how much money individual school districts receive. The proposals come as some school districts are struggling in the post-pandemic environment to retain teachers and fight higher operating costs due to rising inflation. The proposals also come four years after House Bill 3, which passed in 2019, introduced a major overhaul of the state's public school funding, including increases to the per-pupil allotment and the reduction over time of the maximum tax rate districts can charge for basic operations. The tax rate – called the maintenance and operations tax – is the bulk of what Texas property owners pay in taxes to school districts.
Several bills filed for the upcoming legislative session, which begins in January, propose going a step further than the 2019 HB 3 and eliminating or drastically reducing the maintenance and operations tax in hopes of alleviating the property tax burden. The maintenance and operations tax funds everything from teacher salaries to utilities. “It is the largest source of revenue for schools,” said Matt Worthington, a public school data analyst and trustee-elect for the Del Valle Independent School District. “If that goes away, the big question is what will replace that?” One proposal involves shifting more to reliance on sales tax or other consumption-based taxes, said Chandra Villanueva, director of policy and advocacy with Every Texan, a nonpartisan policy institute. Villanueva said the concern is that shifting reliance to consumptive taxes will create volatility in funding and shift the burden to lower-income families. Most states rely on three-legged stool approach to tax: a state income tax, property tax and sales tax. “We don't have an income tax,” Villanueva said. “If we move to just a sales tax, we will be on a pogo stick, and it will go up and down with the economy.” The system would require the state to find the sources of funding elsewhere, said Sheryl Pace, senior analyst with Texas Taxpayers and Research Association. “It'll be made up from general revenue, which as you know is mostly sales tax,” Pace said.

School District Surveys Students On Their Gender Fluidity and Sexual Activity
While some Texas school districts protect students from inappropriate content, Fort Worth’s school district is exposing students to radical gender ideology. Katy Drollinger has the story.
Grassroots activist Carlos Turcios received screenshots of a survey from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that FWISD administered to high school students. The survey asked students for personal details about their level of sexual activity and questions about their gender identity.
“Gender fluidity surveys are inappropriate and [are] an action against parents’ rights,” said Turcios. “Austin needs to work on passing bills that [punish] these districts by withholding state funding.”
Letting school districts ask kids about their “orientation” and “sexual activity” is a great way to ensure groomers, predators, and pedophiles don’t have to work hard. If your kid is in a government school, get them out.
The TPPF take: Gov. Abbott’s public declaration of an invasion being underway at the Texas-Mexico border is a step in the right direction — for both Texas and the nation.
“There is an invasion underway, in the full meaning intended by the Constitution. The federal government is unlikely to do much about it,” says TPPF’s Greg Sindelar. “In the face of this federal dereliction of constitutional duty, Texas Gov. Abbott is setting the stage to assert his own.”

One of the bills included in this border plan is Congressman Michael Cloud’s “287g Program Protection Act.” The 287(g) program was established to allow local law enforcement to serve as a force multiplier for ICE in apprehending illegal migrants. Aransas, Calhoun, Jackson, Matagorda, Nueces Refugio, San Patricio, Victoria, and Wharton counties all participate in the 287(g) program.
This bill would empower local law enforcement to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to detain and deport criminal illegal migrants by encouraging more applications to the program and requiring DHS to set a recruitment goal.

Texas Governor Abbott Announced His Plan to Stop 600,000 Gotaways
to reduce the number of illegal immigrants in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention and encourage the release of thousands onto American streets as part of an omnibus spending bill, according to two appropriations bills, one in the House and the other in the Senate.
Democrats from the House and Senate proposed that ICE have the capacity to hold 25,000 illegal immigrants at a time “to prevent overcrowding that would create dangerous and inhumane conditions” in fiscal year 2023 appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), reducing the agency’s capacity over 25%. If Democrats are able to include the plan in the omnibus spending bill, they would effectively hand organizations seeking to “abolish” ICE a victory, RJ Hauman, head of government relations and communications at the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“The law explicitly requires that all aliens crossing the border illegally be detained, but Congressional Democrats and the Biden administration don’t want to detain or deport anyone,” Hauman said. “So it isn’t surprising that they are attempting to undermine the rule of law by cutting detention capacity, disguising their efforts by calling it inhumane, wasteful, unnecessary etc. Slowly but surely, they’re trying to zero out detention bed space and allow organizations that seek to abolish ICE to operate deeply-flawed ‘alternatives to detention.'”

The plan comes as federal border authorities continue to see record numbers of migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border illegally, with more than 2.3 million encounters in fiscal year 2022 and even more expected with the end of Title 42, a public health expulsion policy set to end on Dec. 21.

With its funding for 34,000 detention beds, ICE currently holds nearly 30,000 single adult illegal immigrants in detention.
“The primary concept is that detention centers themselves are profit centers for cruelty, and that people fleeing countries should not be locked up in the first place because that’s what they’re fleeing from,” Orr said. “They’re not security risks, there may be some, but the majority of them are not security risks.”
Congressional Democrats are seeking to reduce the number of illegal immigrants in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention and encourage the release of thousands onto American streets as part of an omnibus spending bill, according to two appropriations bills, one in the House and the other in the Senate.
Democrats from the House and Senate proposed that ICE have the capacity to hold 25,000 illegal immigrants at a time “to prevent overcrowding that would create dangerous and inhumane conditions” in fiscal year 2023 appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), reducing the agency’s capacity over 25%. If Democrats are able to include the plan in the omnibus spending bill, they would effectively hand organizations seeking to “abolish” ICE a victory, RJ Hauman, head of government relations and communications at the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) told the Daily Caller News Foundation. As of Nov. 20, roughly 30% of illegal immigrants detained by ICE have criminal records, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC).

Abbott Promotes Busing of Illegals as Answer to Border Invasion
As Texas’ border towns prepare for the possible removal of Title 42, Gov. Greg Abbott took to social media to tout his push to bus illegal aliens to other states. Sydnie Henry has the details.
“Texas is providing much-needed relief to communities overwhelmed by President Biden’s open border policies,” wrote Abbott.
Abbott’s busing scheme has delivered more than 15,000 illegal aliens to cities such as D.C., New York City, Philadelphia, and Chicago. Critics say that is a drop in the bucket compared to the hundreds of thousands who have entered Texas illegally in the past two years.
“This crisis is about to blow wide open,” said Chris Russo, president of Texans for Strong Borders.
Border security activists, like Alliance for a Safe Texas’ Sheena Rodriguez, are calling for bolder action from the governor.
More than 40 Texas counties have declared an invasion on the Texas-Mexico border and urged the governor to take stronger measures. Ten Establishment Senators Helped Mike Lee’s Title 42 Amendment Fail, Enabling Omnibus Advancement while providing political cover for 2024 endangered Democrat senators.
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) worked with Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) and Jon Tester (D-MT) Thursday morning to circumvent Lee’s amendment by crafting a side-by-side amendment to provide political cover for ten senators to ignore Lee’s Title 42 amendment, which was throwing a wrench into the passage of the omnibus bill.
Lee’s Title 42 amendment tied funds for the Department of Homeland Security to the Biden administration maintaining Title 42 in place.

· A Trump-era immigration policy gained new life yesterday, as the Supreme Court blocked the Biden administration from killing it. Brandon Waltens has the details.
· At issue is “Title 42,” a reference to a public health order issued by the Trump administration’s Department of Health and Human Services in March 2020. The order allows customs officials to send illegal border-crossers from “COVID-19 impacted” areas back across the border without having to process them through the federal court system.
· A legal challenge led by a 19-state coalition, including Texas, convinced Chief Justice John Roberts – and now a majority of the of the court – to block the Biden administration until at least February.
· The court's action comes at a critical time. Illegal crossings at Texas’ southern border are surpassing all records, and there has been growing concern about the effect of the policy’s expiration exacerbating the situation.

Experts see the Texas economic outlook being stronger in 2023 than other states
Some of the state’s top economic leaders paint a rosy picture for Texas heading into 2023, saying it’s on more solid ground than many other areas around the country. But they also warn the state isn’t immune to a recession. “Texas is well positioned for long-term growth, with favorable demographics and expansion across a spectrum of industrial sectors,” according to the annual long-term Texas economic outlook report from The Perryman Group. Dallas’ best asset is its natural population growth, coupled with the flood of people moving into the state, said Ray Perryman, CEO of The Perryman Group, at an event this week hosted by the Dallas Regional Chamber at UT Southwestern Medical Center. By 2050, his firm expects Texas’s population to hit 42 million, compared with about 30 million today. “Human capital is going to be the single most important resource that we have going forward,” he said. “Because [the U.S.] is running short of it, and we have it in abundance here.”
Employers in the state have added 694,200 positions since October 2021. Texas is expected to generate 7 million more new jobs by 2045. Most of those will be in the services sector, including professional and business services, education, health care, accommodations and food services, the Perryman report said. The wholesale and retail trade segment will also grow significantly. Next year will see about 340,700 jobs added, less than the 725,100 total jobs projected for this year, because the state can’t continue to grow at its existing rate, the report projected. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar, who also spoke at the event, said Texas’ growing population can help fill jobs during a tough labor market better than other areas. “When you wake up in Texas, think about this for the next week, every morning when you wake up, there’s another thousand people who call Texas home,” he said.
